Different currents meet in the seas around the cape, which lead to huge seas. The waters around Cape Agulhas have a reputation of being amongst the most dangerous in the world because of the swell – and its inhabitants. The continental shelf stretches 250km into the ocean; and the waters are extremely dangerous. And towering over it all is the Table Mountain.
